Introduction

In conducting a landscape analysis, we carefully selected excerpts from speeches delivered by prominent academics and activists emphasizing the importance of peace worldwide. This information was meticulously cross-verified with publications from esteemed sources such as ‘The Economist,’ ‘Reuters,’ ‘The Guardian,’ and others. Subsequently, we synthesized our research findings and arrived at an informed decision to focus our investigation on the United Nations for the purpose of this assignment.

Research

We then approached the United Nations as if it were a business, subjecting it to the scrutiny of the Business Canvas Model. This proved to be a challenging endeavor, yet ultimately rewarding and fulfilling.

Financial Analysis

We delved into the financial robustness of the United Nations, meticulously scrutinizing its methods for both acquiring and distributing funds. Additionally, we extracted valuable insights from the organization’s spending patterns, as well as pertinent global trends shaping the world today.

Commerce and impact analysis

We proceeded to analyze the commerce and impact that the United Nations had across all the various components of the business canvas model.

Interviews

We were fortunate to conduct an interview with the Inspector General of the UN Peacekeeping forces, delving into systematic issues within the United Nations. Furthermore, we engaged in extensive discussions regarding potential areas for improvement and enhancement of the forces.

Recommendations

Based on the interviews and research we conducted, we pinpointed areas for improvement across various sectors, within the Business Canvas Model. Additionally, we retained successful practices while maintaining a delicate balance, thereby facilitating effective change management.

Conclusions

This project has made it very clear to us that the UN as an organization is integral to maintaining peace and fostering the world order.

Certain aspects of the organization is still stuck in the past and are outdated in todays day and age, making the organization look like a ‘Toothless Tiger’! Reform is need of the hour.

Like the General mentioned, It is time for people like us to take a keen interest in our collective future and help reform this aging organization, to make it more ‘in’ with the times and effective for our own sake.

The UN needs to be provided with all the resources and powers it needs to work for a more safer more peaceful world for us to live in!
